Research Projects

The SMIL research projects are diversified to enhance food and feed production, educate and train end users, and provide technology solutions.

The research projects demonstrate a variety of research for development that have elements of research, education and training, local capacity development and technology delivery focused on sorghum and pearl millet. These crops are vital to vulnerable populations throughout Africa and specifically smallholder farmers to provide nutrient-rich foods for families and forage/feed for livestock, as well as economic benefits.
